Taylor was last seen in the area of Greenwood Trail, on July 2, 2024, at approximately 11:18 p.m.

Brantford police continue to investigate sexual assault, seek information from public

Brantford police continue to investigate a sexual assault and are seeking information from the public to help identify two persons of interest.
On Tuesday, June 25, 2024, between 10:30 p.m., and 1:30 a.m., a female was sexually assaulted by two different individuals at two separate times while in the downtown core.
The suspects have been described to police as follows:
Suspect #1:
Brown male, approximately 26-years-old, stocky build, with spiked dark hair, wearing blue shorts, black sandals, a floral shirt, and hoop earrings in each ear.
Suspect #2:
Black male, approximately 30-years-old, narrow v-shaped face, stubble on chin, short, buzzed hair, wearing dark coloured pants, black shoes, blue "Crooks & Castle” t-shirt.

BPS arrest 22-year-old Brantford man and woman for child pornography related offences

As a result of an investigation launched by the Brantford Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE), a 22-year-old Brantford man and a 22-year-old Brantford woman have been arrested and are facing child pornography charges.
Members of the Brantford Police Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit recently executed a search warrant at an address in Brantford after receiving a tip through the National Centre for Missing & Exploited Children. Officers seized multiple computers, cellphones, and electronic devices during the course of the search and performed a follow up investigation.
Detectives working in the ICE Unit found evidence of child pornography on the various devices.
As a result of the investigation, on June 25, 2024, a 22-year-old male and a 22-year-old female, both of Brantford, were arrested and held for a bail hearing. The two accused are each facing a charge of Accessing Child Pornography, contrary to the Criminal Code.
The Brantford Police ICE Unit are continuing their investigation. Anyone with information related to this case or has information relating to sexual crimes against children are urged to call the Brantford Police ICE Unit at 519-756-0113.

BPS Constable Trevor Taylor Awarded the 2023 Ontario Medal for Police Bravery
As announced by the Ministry of the Solicitor General, at a ceremony held at Queen’s Park on Monday, June 17, 2024, Brantford Police Service Constable Trevor Taylor received the 2023 Ontario Medal for Police Bravery in recognition of his actions while on duty.
On March 19, 2023, members of the Brantford Police Service responded to a report of a woman jumping off a bridge into the Grand River. Despite harsh weather conditions and strong currents, Constable Trevor Taylor bravely plunged into the icy water but could not reach her. Undeterred, he continued tracking her until she was caught on something downstream. Ignoring his safety, he dove in again, successfully pulling her from the river with the help of another officer. Despite the freezing weather and dangerous current, Constable Taylor’s selfless and fearless actions were instrumental in locating and attempting to save the woman.
The Ontario Medal for Police Bravery was created in 1975 and recognizes acts of extraordinary courage and bravery performed by members of Ontario’s police services. These medals are the province’s highest honours and are awarded to police officers who have demonstrated great courage in risking their lives to save the lives of others.
"The courage these exceptional police officers have displayed is truly remarkable,” said the Honourable Edith Dumont, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario. "Each one of the recipients has gone well above and beyond their duties, and we are proud to recognize the impact of their selfless service on their communities and on our province.”

ATV driver collides with police cruiser, flees on foot

Members of the Brantford Police Service are actively seeking the driver of an ATV who collided with a police cruiser and fled on foot.
On Monday, June 17, 2024, at approximately 9:45 p.m., an officer with the Brantford Police Service who was on patrol in the area of Market Street South and Erie Avenue observed an ATV and two dirt bikes travelling in a dangerous manner.
The officer attempted to stop the vehicles. The dirt bikes fled the scene. The ATV driver collided his vehicle with the police cruiser in the roadway near Erie Avenue and Clarence Street.
The driver of the ATV then left his vehicle, fleeing the area on foot. The suspect fled southbound behind the forested area at Clarence Street and Erie Avenue.
The police cruiser sustained moderate damage and the police officer sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision.
Area roads were closed briefly to conduct the investigation. The suspect remains outstanding, and the investigation is ongoing.

BPS arrest Brantford man, recover $150,000 in stolen construction equipment after break and enter

Members of the Brantford Police Service Uniform Patrol Section arrested a 36-year-old Brantford man on June 12, 2024, after executing a search warrant at a West Street property. Over $150,000 worth of construction tools and equipment were recovered by police and returned to the owner. The equipment was reported stolen on June 11, 2024, from a break and enter that had occurred at a construction site in a nearby jurisdiction.
The search warrant was executed at a West Street property and the items, which included a towable power generator, trailer, various construction tools and equipment, were recovered. The total value of the equipment recovered was approximately $150,000.
The accused was located and arrested at the West Street location.
Members of the Brantford Police Service High Enforcement Action Team were involved with the execution of the search warrant and the investigation.
As a result, a 36-year-old Brantford man stands charged with the following violations of the Criminal Code:
- Break & Enter
- Theft over $5,000
- Possession of Stolen Goods over $5,000
Additionally, the accused was found to have three outstanding warrants and was held for a bail hearing.

Brantford police arrest man after incidents on walking trail

Brantford police have arrested a 34-year-old Brantford man for the offences of sexual assault and criminal harassment in relation to two separate incidents occurring on the walking trails near Shellard Lane and Colborne Street West.
The first incident occurred on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at approximately 9:00 a.m., where the man approached a female on the trail and the second incident occurred on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at approximately 9:15 a.m. after the man approached another female. Details of the incidents and information related to the victims will not be provided.
The accused was arrested Wednesday, June 12, 2024, and was held for a bail hearing.

BPS arrest two, after robbery with firearm and barricaded incident

Members of the Brantford Police Service arrested a 47-year-old man and 40-year-old female, both Brantford residents, on May 26, 2024, after receiving a report of a man who had brandished a firearm outside a Murray Street residence.
At approximately 6:00 a.m., officers attended a Murray Street residence after a man and woman were reported to have attempted to enter and rob a Murray Street residence with a firearm.
The accused fled the scene on foot and were located by police at a Sarah Street residence.
The female suspect was arrested outside the residence on the strength of outstanding warrants. Search incident to arrest located approximately 0.5 grams of suspected fentanyl in her possession.
The male suspect barricaded himself within the residence for approximately an hour before exiting to be arrested by officers.
The male suspect was transported to hospital for medical treatment due to suspected drug use. Information received also indicated the male suspect had several outstanding warrants.
Police executed a search warrant at the Sarah Street residence at approximately 10:15 a.m., May 28, 2024, where officers located a replica firearm and approximately 136 grams of suspected cocaine and approximately 23 grams of suspected fentanyl.
This incident is not random as the individuals were known to each other.
As a result of the investigation, a 47-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Mischief Under $5,000
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Robbery with Firearm
- Probation Order: Non-Compliance
And, as a result of the investigation, a 40-year-old woman from Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act violations:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Mischief Under $5,000
- Possession Schedule 1 – Fentanyl
- Probation Order: Non-Compliance
Both accused were held for bail.
