Illegal Cannabis Storefront Re-Opened; Male Arrested; Additional Products Seized

Brantford Police Service Core Engagement and Response Team members (CERT) who were conducting foot patrol in the area of Clarence Street and Colborne Street on April 16, 2025, observed an illegal cannabis store, which had been previously shut down by police, re-opened to the public.
A search warrant was executed at the retail location and approximately $47,000 of illegal cannabis was seized.
As a result, a 50-year-old man from Brantford was arrested and stands charged with Possession for the Purpose of Selling under the Cannabis Act.

Illegal Cannabis Storefront Closed After Complaint; Two Men Arrested; Products Seized

As a result of a community complaint, an illegal cannabis store has been shut down, resulting in the arrest of two Barrie men and the seizure of over $130,000 in illegal cannabis product.
On January 27, 2025, the Brantford Police Service received information from a concerned citizen regarding the operation of a possible illegal cannabis storefront located near Colborne Street and Clarence Street.
Through investigation, officers determined that this retail location was not licensed and operating illegally.
On Thursday, April 10, 2025, members of the BPS Core Engagement and Response Team (CERT), executed a search warrant at the retail location. Approximately $130,860 in illegal cannabis and cannabis-related product was seized.
As a result of the investigation, a 50-year-old man and a 51-year -old man, both from Barrie, were arrested and stand charged with the following Cannabis Act offences:
•Distribution of illicit cannabis
•Possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling
