The Ministry of Transportation of Ontario reports that drivers who are using cell phones while driving are four (4) times more likely to be in a crash than drivers who are focused on the road. Upon conviction, the penalty for driving while using a cell phone is $155.00; however, the maximum penalty is $500.00.
